George Young / Project and Resources Coordinator, Jamaica

What's been the most important thing you've learnt as a result of working with the British Council?

The  most important thing I have learnt at the British Council are the EDI core areas.

What skill have you developed or learnt working here?

My ability to manuver SAP is profound and to expand the conversation around EDI in the British Council.

How would you describe the people you work with?

The team is very caring, fun to be around, and supportive of each other!

What other area or business unit would you like to explore within the organisation?

There is no other area I would like to explore but I would like for us to expand our EDI conversations and policies into meaningful practices.

What do you think the British Council could/should do more of?

The British Council is a cultural organisation and I believe that more effort needs to be done to better understand the cultures in the countries we work and the staffing dynamics which are impacted.

What would you like to say to anyone interested in working with the British Council?

The British Council is an interesting organisation as it provides opportunities to be exposed to other culture and the cross information which comes from this experience helps to develop an individual’s holistic development.
