What do you love most about working here?
Working at British Council is an unparalleled experience for me for many reasons, one of them is the fact that here I can literally navigate the whole world across all sectors. You can be at a meeting with a Government stakeholder in the morning, followed by a call with a private sector leader, and close your day exchanging emails with a civil society stakeholder, to say the least; belonging to an organisation that is actively present everywhere imaginable in the fields of education and society is something I enjoy the most.
Why would you recommend other people to join this organisation?
I would recommend anyone to join British Council because this is an organisation where you will always find opportunities for personal and professional growth; these available opportunities are not only relevant for the organisation, but they are also meaningful and purposeful for every staff member since each employee is given ownership over the development path they decide to pursue.
What do you think is our company's biggest strength that we should be focusing on?
British Council biggest strength is its worldwide reputation. It is our main asset, as well as our biggest responsibility. The prestige and quality associated with our organisation should always inspire and inform our personal and organisational performance at all levels.
What three words would you use to describe our BC culture?
Passionate, Impact-driven, and dynamic.
What impact has the British Council had in your career?
It has meant the perfect opportunity to broaden my work experience in Higher Education where I had developed some expertise, in the public sector only. Furthermore, it has consolidated my career by increasing the possibilities I have to help generate positive change and reach more impact.
What motivates you to go above and beyond at work?
On the one hand, my motivation is my family and all the great British Council stories I can share with them on how important is the role we play in society. On the other hand, what greatly motivates me is my colleagues’ profound passion and commitment to our organisational values, principles and practices, which I can I breathe and see reflected in my daily interaction with them.
