The British Council is delighted to announce an open call for papers for ELT Week Perú and ELT Week Argentina 2026. These are flagship virtual professional development events for English language educators, taking place within the first three months of next year.

Our English Language Teaching (ELT) events aim to highlight and amplify the voices of local educators and specialists, while also welcoming contributions from international speakers. We seek to inspire teachers, share innovative practices, and promote dialogue around the evolving challenges and opportunities in ELT.

We invite local and international speakers, experienced practitioners, and thought leaders to submit proposals for dynamic sessions that address the realities of teaching in Perú, Argentina, the Americas and beyond.

About ELT Weeks 2026

Organised by the British Council, ELT Week Perú and ELT Week in Argentina are free, virtual conferences designed to provide a platform for educators to connect, collaborate, and advance their teaching practices. With live webinars, hybrid events and on-demand access, the events ensure flexibility and accessibility for English teachers within each country and the region.

Proposals generally include:

  1. Title: A concise and engaging title (maximum 12 words).
  2. Theme and Topic(s) that the session addresses: (As mentioned in Theme and Topics above).

  5. Session Format: Indicate whether the session is a presentation, an interactive session, or other.
  6. Technical Requirements: Specify any special tools or platforms you may require.

We warmly welcome proposals from teachers who have never presented at British Council or other professional development events before. Your classroom experience, creativity, and insights are incredibly valuable, and we want to help you share them with a wider audience.

To support first-time speakers, we offer individualised mentoring throughout the preparation process. This includes:

  • Guidance on shaping your session idea
