The gender gap in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions remains a reality affecting women worldwide. Despite their achievements and capabilities, women make up a smaller proportion of the workforce and research teams in these fields, facing challenges such as lower visibility in publications, lower salaries, and less access to leadership roles.

Access to education is key to reducing this underrepresentation, which is why the Women in STEM scholarship programme is so important. In collaboration with UK universities and Fundación Coppel in Mexico, this programme offers a unique opportunity in 2025 for women from Mexico and Brazil who wish to continue their master’s studies in the UK. With over 400 scholarships granted globally in its five years of existence, the Women in STEM programme is becoming a vital platform to propel women towards the future of science and technology.

Scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year are now open

We are partnering with 4 UK universities to provide 20 scholarships for women from Mexico and Brazil. Successful applicants will benefit from:

  • Academic recognition for joining a prestigious UK university, a global leader in research and education in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
  • Financial support, which includes tuition fees, a living stipend, travel costs, visa, and health coverage fees
  • Support for the IELTS exam fee. Please note that the cost of applying for the exam will only be reimbursed to selected applicants.
