The British Council requests a quotation for consulting services to develop and deliver the activities described below across Brazil, Mexico and Peru as priority countries for the organisation. However, the services will not be limited to those countries in Latin America.
The objective is to sign a three-year contract with the selected supplier through this tender, and under the contract the countries (Brazil, Mexico, Peru) will be able to request individual services from the list below, up to the total value of GBP 150,000 for the contract.
Objectives:
It is expected that the deliverables will cover aspects such as listed below, however not limited to only those:
1. Institutional mapping and review on local context to assess and recommend tools and strategies for local implementation of gender and diversity frameworks, projects and policies with/across Higher Education Institutions and funding/policy agencies including possibility of cross borders training and sharing of content / best-practice between countries in the region.
2. For the case of Brazil this includes:
- Mapping of local context (policies, institutions, processes) for Policy and Funding Agencies to endorse/support/ apply the recently developed ´Gender equality framework for HEI´s´
- The design and delivery of participatory engagement, research, mapping, and disseminations tools such as workshops with key stakeholders in country and globally with emphasis in the UK.
- Guidelines on the practical implementation and governance of gender equality framework / charters (such as Athena Swan) that were developed in the UK and other countries, and how those could be applied in the selected countries in the Americas.
3. Recommendations for local implementation and strategic institutional engagement including practical tools, processes, measures and governance structures to support engagement and the follow-up on implementation of gender equality practices / policies from a systemic perspective across HEIs and with agencies.
4. Development of guidelines for the application of gender equality frameworks in Mexico and / or Peru – which can use Brazil’s or other countries as inspiration.
5. Development of content and delivery of workshops to disseminate contents linked to gender equality and social inclusion in higher education institutions.
6. Desk research and literature review on specific subjects of gender equality in Higher Education, including but not limited to research / mapping of gaps in project’s implementation or design, such as identifying specific challenges faced by marginalised groups, recommending strategies to address intersectional barriers to gender equality, and building on global efforts to support women in the interface of higher education and tech in Brazil, Mexico and Peru
7. Capacity building for higher education institutions on gender equality, including but not limited to self-assessment tools, data collection plans, structuring of more inclusive institutional policies.
8. Workshops and trainings: development of specific offer in terms of content to support professional development for women in academia.
